About the Artist

Lisa Richards is an international singer-songwriter presenting original, narrative-led concerts for listening-focused audiences. Based in Canberra, Australia, she performs solo on voice and acoustic guitar, delivering song-centred shows that prioritise lyric, story, and musical nuance. Her work draws on folk and roots traditions, with a jazz-inflected vocal approach, and is best suited to seated rooms, cultural venues, churches, and intimate performance spaces where close listening is central.

Richards has released eight albums and has toured extensively in Australia, Europe, and the United States. Her work has been presented at festivals including Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, Merlefest, SXSW, and CMJ, and has received national radio support from ABC in Australia. Across these contexts, she is known for performances that balance emotional range with technical control, favouring depth, clarity, and connection over spectacle.

In live performance, Richards presents a focused, song-led set that adapts easily to different spaces and audiences. Her concerts are paced for attentive listening, with flexibility around set length and format, and are equally at home in listening rooms, cultural venues, churches, and curated festival settings. Whether performing a single extended set or two shorter sets, the emphasis remains on storytelling, musical nuance, and a strong sense of connection with the room.
